The white Persian is the breed's postcard: the full coat with no pattern to distract from it, and a show system all its own. Uniquely among Persian solids, white is judged in THREE eye-color classes: blue-eyed, copper-eyed and (one of each), each a separate class at and alike, because eye color in white cats rides the same masking gene that makes the coat white.
The deafness file, with its real numbers
Dominant white masks color and, in some cats, affects the inner ear: the association is real feline genetics, not myth. The Persian's own measured numbers are the useful surprise: two independent studies put deafness in white Persians at 8.3% and 11.1%, far below the 43-47% the same studies measured in white Norwegian Forest Cats, Maine Coons and Turkish Vankedisi. Lower is not zero, and blue-eyed whites carry the higher share of the risk: a hearing test exists, takes minutes, and settles the question for the individual kitten. A deaf cat, for the record, makes a superb indoor companion; the test informs, it does not disqualify.
Living white, practically
Two practical notes owners learn fast.
