Here is what four markets actually show, and the paperwork that matters more than the price in a breed this small.

United States: real breeders, no published prices
Every named, reachable US Korat cattery we checked withholds its price entirely: quote by inquiry, without exception. That is not a research failure, it is the market's structure, and it is sharper here than on any breed we have priced. The one figure history offers, $400, dates from the mid-1990s and is explicitly not current; we print it as an artifact, not a guide. The census behind the silence: 's own Find-A-Breeder tool returns "0 Catteries Found" for the Korat, the fanciers' referral list carries two breeders continent-wide, and the breed community's own most generous self-reported list names eleven active US breeders in total. Expect an application, a conversation, and a waiting list; budget by analogy with other rare, closed breeds rather than from a published Korat number, because none exists.
United Kingdom: one reliable live figure
The UK offers the page's one dependable number: £800, from a live listing cross-verified against the breed club's own member list. Two other UK listings failed verification on their own words or on the breed's own single-color standard and are excluded. One figure, verified, is worth more than a fabricated range; that is the UK section.
Canada: two real catteries, both silent
Canada's registry directory filters to exactly one Korat cattery, and the two real, independently-verified Canadian breeders we reached both withhold pricing, the same deliberate silence as the US. A market this size has no range to publish, and any site quoting a Canadian Korat price invented it.
Australia: one pre-order figure, labeled
Australia produced one genuine figure, AUD $1,500, explicitly a pre-order price for a litter not yet born, which we label exactly that way: a one-off, forward-sold price, not a market rate. A second real Australian cattery withholds entirely. Two data points, neither a range.
The paperwork that matters more than the price
In a breed this small, the questions beat the number. The Korat pioneered breed-wide DNA screening: every UK line was tested clear of GM1 and GM2 gangliosidosis in 1998 and has required tested-or-clear-by-descent ever since, so a Korat breeder anywhere can be asked for GM paperwork by name. Since 2025 there is a second test to ask about: the LDLR atherosclerosis variant, with breeding lines (Korat and the related Thai) now being screened. A breeder who answers both questions fluently is the market signal worth paying for; no color premium exists (the breed has one color), and no pet/show tier card exists anywhere in any market.

Are Korats expensive?
Scarce more than expensive: the few published figures sit in ordinary pedigree territory, but supply is so thin that the real cost is patience. Beware any listing that seems easily available at a bargain: with a breed this rare, easy availability is itself a red flag.
What should I ask a Korat breeder for?
The GM1/GM2 DNA status (tested or clear by descent, a system running since 1998) and, since 2025, the LDLR atherosclerosis test status. Both tests exist specifically for this breed's lines; a real Korat breeder will know exactly what you are asking.
Do Korat prices vary by color?
They cannot: the Korat comes in exactly one color, the silver-tipped blue, at every registry. Any color-premium talk transplants another breed's market onto this one.
