Lykoi Price: What the Werewolf Cat Costs, Market by Market

The Lykoi market is one of the thinnest we have measured, and that scarcity IS the price story. Two named US catteries publish figures, one Canadian seller does, and the UK and Australian markets currently show zero live breeder listings between them. Everything below is named, dated and sourced. Where a market is empty, we say so instead of inventing a range.

United States: two named catteries, $2,400 to $3,500

The two published figures. Atreyukatz (Gasburg, Virginia, fetched live): black roan pets at $2,400 spayed/neutered, non-standard colors priced higher without a stated figure, a $100 waitlist fee, and shipping separately at $400-500. Beeblebrox (Michigan): standard-color Lykoi at $2,500 with a 3-year genetic guarantee, and named litters at $2,500-3,500 for non-standard colors. That page is an archived 2024 read (the live site now sits behind a bot wall), so we carry it as the best available figure, not a current quote. Two uncited consumer guides ($1,500-2,500 and $1,500-3,000+) sit inside the same band without adding a source.

The live marketplace check is its own small lesson. The four current GoKitty "Lykoi" listings ($950-2,100) are all tagged Household Pet, adult cats aged one to three years, despite two carrying "Kitten" in their names. Read the category field, not the name field. Several other cattery pages publish no figure at all (Wisconsin, Texas, a Pennsylvania storefront that repeats "reasonable Lykoi kitten prices" three times without one digit). Application-first is this breed's normal.

United Kingdom: zero live listings, and one site disagreeing with itself

The UK's biggest marketplace currently returns exactly zero live Lykoi listings ("We found 0 Lykoi Kittens for sale", its own page data, 19/08/2026). Its FAQ text still states £1,500-2,500, a range no live listing corroborates. The SAME site's breed page says "upwards of £60", a 25-to-40-fold internal contradiction we report as it stands: the £60 line reads like a missing digit, but we print what sources say rather than repairing them.

Three named UK breeder and directory pages all publish no price. One UK Lykoi breeders directory exists as a structure with zero breeders in it. GCCF fully recognizes the breed, so the UK path is real: it just runs through waiting lists, not listings.

Canada: one live figure, to the cent

Toronto's 416werecats states CA$2,499.99, in stock, with a validity date in its own listing data: the only live Canadian figure found. A second registry-affiliated cattery (Alberta) publishes no price. The national Kijiji check returned exactly two listings for the whole country, both private adult rehomings ($1,000 for one; "please contact" for the other), not breeder kittens. CCA-AFC's breeders directory has no Lykoi category at all. One seller is a contact, not a market.

Australia: a checked, explained empty market

No Australian Lykoi price exists to publish. A national breeder directory returns zero Lykoi listings (its own analytics payload says so), and a generalist marketplace returns none. ANCATS, Australia's own registry, does not list the Lykoi among its recognized breeds at all, which is the strongest finding here: any Australian Lykoi program currently works under overseas registration. An Australian pet blog gestures at "a small number of breeders" without naming one or pricing anything. We publish the absence and its mechanism rather than a guess.

How to buy one anyway

Expect an application and a wait in every market. The two questions that matter, from our profile's health file. Has the breeding program had skin assessments done? No commercial DNA test exists for the breed's coat gene variants or its described skin syndrome, so "DNA-tested for Lykoi health" is a claim to question, not a reassurance. And can the breeder show the registry paperwork for THIS registry, since recognition differs by country? A "Lykoi" priced far below the named-cattery band deserves the adult-cat and pedigree questions our marketplace check just showed matter.
