Khao Manee Price: What the Diamond Eye Cat Really Costs

Real Khao Manee prices: two named US catteries tier by eye color ($1,000-1,700 standard, $2,000-2,300 odd-eyed), the UK's live-vs-evergreen gap, and the $7,000-11,000 echo debunked.

Two things define this breed's market. Real catteries price by EYE COLOUR. And the internet repeats a "$7,000 to $11,000" figure that no named breeder anywhere charges. Both halves matter, so this page carries the real tiers from named sources and dismantles the echo, market by market.

United States: two named catteries, one shared structure

White Gem Cattery (Northeast Ohio): $1,700 for blue, yellow or green eyes; $2,300 for odd eyes; shots, spay/neuter, and registration included. Mia Bella Cattery: $1,000 standard eye colors, $2,000 , transport explicitly excluded. Two independent catteries, two different price points, the SAME structure. Odd-eyed costs more, roughly $600-1,000 more, at both. That structure, not any single number, is the market fact worth carrying into a negotiation. The general marketplace adds only noise worth naming: three individual-seller listings at our check ($995, $500, and one accidentally priced in Egyptian pounds). Too thin and too different a population to merge with cattery pricing.

The $7,000-11,000 echo, dismantled

The figure that dominates search results traces to no named breeder anywhere. It is a synthesis echo repeated between aggregator pages, one of which is a scam-pattern listing site. Both real US catteries above price at a fraction of it.

Two related traps we hit and refuse to publish: a marketplace page whose "khao manee" search renders other breeds' prices (Bengals at $4,400-5,000, Devon Rex at $4,100) as cross-sell filler, none of them Khao Manee figures; and a Canadian classifieds page whose rendered text includes a $10,000 line that belongs to a used car, not a cat. If a page quotes five figures for this breed, ask which breeder stands behind any of them.

United Kingdom: the live-vs-evergreen gap, dated

The same platform, the same week. The evergreen breed page claims "£500+", while the three LIVE listings ran £230, £150 and £150, one of them a self-declared mix (19/08/2026). Both figures are real in their own frame: the evergreen number describes breeder expectations, the live sample describes what was actually listed that week, thin and mostly informal. The UK's real due-diligence tool is better than any price. requires a or OAE hearing certificate, with microchip ID, before any white cat's progeny can register. So "show me the hearing certificate" separates a GCCF-registered breeder from everyone else in one sentence.

Canada and Australia: two documented zeros

Canada: zero, with the reason named. The one Canadian cattery on record, Saphira (Drummondville, Quebec), states on its own current page that it stopped breeding Khao Manee at the end of 2024 (it rehomes its remaining adults, unpriced). Three further checks found no successor. Australia: near-zero. One Instagram-only cattery with no pricing, one cattery that states it stopped breeding the breed in June 2025, and a national directory that does not carry the breed at all. A retailer blog's AUD figures exist and stay labeled a retailer's own market observation, never a sourced range. Both countries are import markets for this breed, priced from the US tiers above plus transport.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Khao Manee cost?

From the two named US catteries: $1,000-1,700 with standard eye colors, $2,000-2,300 odd-eyed. The UK showed £150-230 live listings against a £500+ evergreen claim. Canada and Australia currently have no active domestic breeders we could find.

Why do odd-eyed Khao Manee cost more?

Both named catteries price the same structure independently: odd eyes carry a $600-1,000 premium over blue, gold or green. The odd-eyed look is the breed's signature, and supply within a litter is not controllable.

Is a Khao Manee really $7,000-11,000?

We could not find one named breeder charging it: the figure is an echo repeated between aggregator pages (one a scam-pattern site), and both real US catteries price between $1,000 and $2,300. Treat any five-figure Khao Manee quote as a claim requiring a named breeder.

Can I buy a Khao Manee in Canada or Australia?

Not domestically at our check: Canada's one cattery stopped breeding the breed at the end of 2024 (stated on its own page), and Australia's traceable programs have stopped or gone dark. Plan a US import.

What should I ask a Khao Manee breeder?

For a UK cat: the GCCF-required BAER/OAE hearing certificate with microchip ID, a one-sentence legitimacy test. Everywhere: registry paperwork tracing to Thai lines, the eye-color class on the contract, and, for a kitten with a head smudge, the 18-month headcap rule our identification page explains.
