Rainbow Tonkinese charges a flat $2,200, verified at the cattery's own page (and a corroboration worth knowing: the separately-found "Rainbow Burmese" cattery is the same family operation, identical price and deposit method: one data point, not two). Below the cattery tier, GoKitty's live US spread ran $100 to $1,800, with the usual caveat that marketplace listings rarely state registration.
United Kingdom: real prices, and the Tonkdoll warning
Pets4Homes' live sample priced pure Tonkinese at £550 to £1,200, with a named cattery (Rameses, £550) matching two live listings exactly. The warning: two of the six "Tonkinese" listings on the country's biggest marketplace were actually "Tonkdolls," a Tonkinese x Ragdoll cross, not the breed. A Tonkdoll may be a lovely cat; it is not a pedigreed Tonkinese, and at prices the difference is the whole invoice. Check the registry paperwork, not the listing title.
Australia: two catteries, two structures
Bira Tonkinese: A$950. Annie's Song: A$1,500 plus , landing at roughly A$1,700-1,800 all-in. Australia is also this breed's cheapest search market for breeders, which matches the real, findable scene.
Canada: nine doors, zero prices
No current Canadian Tonkinese price exists to publish, and the absence is thorough: nine independent doors including two national marketplaces came back empty, and 's own paid breeder directory does not even offer Tonkinese as a selectable breed, which is a stronger absence than empty listings: it means no current member has bought the listing at all. Canadian buyers import or join distant waitlists; we publish no figure because none exists.
The registry paperwork that actually matters
Three facts from the registries' own rules earn their place beside any deposit. First, the outcross split: permanently closed the door on fresh Siamese x Burmese crosses becoming registered Tonkinese on 1 January 1984, while , , and all still permit it today: a live population-management divergence, and a paperwork question if you care which registry your kitten registers with.
Second, 's breeding-register cats carry a six-test DNA panel requirement, which sits alongside GCCF's own sentence that the breed has "no known inherent problems": the panel is ancestry prudence, not a hidden disease list, and asking a breeder for the parents' results costs nothing. Third, the recognition history's honest wrinkle: 's own documents disagree by up to eleven years on when Canada recognized the breed; the corroborated dates are 1967/1971, with 1965 belonging to the name's own origin story, and we print that spread rather than invent one clean year.
