Sokoke Cat Price: The Rarest Market We Have Ever Tried to Price
Sokoke cat price, honestly: no confirmed live kitten price exists in the US, UK, Canada or Australia, and this page shows each market's own evidence, plus the two fake-price traps.

Most price pages give you a range. This one documents an absence, because the absence is the finding. As of our reads, no confirmed live Sokoke kitten price exists in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or Australia, and each market's own institutions say why. and the breed's own UK club both independently call the Sokoke "the rarest breed of domestic cat in the world" (their words, which we attribute rather than certify). Here is what each market actually shows, and the two fake-price traps waiting for anyone who keeps googling. The breed itself lives on our Sokoke profile.
United Kingdom: the whole club list
2 breeders
both named on the breed club's own page, neither publishing a price: the breed's strongest Western market
United States, in the marketplace's own words
'No kittens available'
explicit zeros on the dedicated directories, not missing pages
Canada: the registry's own tool
Not in the dropdown
Experimental tier, Kenya-import-with-waybill registration only, and a breeder search that cannot select the breed
Australia: the flattest absence
Nothing
no breeder, no listing, no secondary figure, no registry tier
United Kingdom: two named breeders, no published price
The UK is the breed's Western stronghold, and its entire club-listed breeder base is TWO names: Samburu Sokokes (Hilary Goodburn, Kent) and Sally Rainbow-Ockwell, per the Sokoke Breed Club's own Breeders & Kittens page. Neither publishes a price. That is not a directory failing to load; that is the market. Expect a conversation and a wait, not a listing.
United States: the marketplaces answer with an explicit zero
GoKitty's dedicated Sokoke page states it in its own words: "No kittens available at this time". That is an explicit zero rather than a missing page, and the second dedicated directory checked returns the same. No named US cattery with a published price could be confirmed anywhere in our research.
Canada: the registry's own tool cannot even select the breed
Canada delivers the strongest single absence-signal in our files. lists the Sokoke on its standards page as "SOKOKE (Experimental) (SK)". Yet its own breeder directory does not offer Sokoke in the breed dropdown at all (27 other breeds do appear). The Experimental tier has a real consequence a buyer should know: only cats imported directly from Kenya, with a waybill, can be registered at all. And a Quebec breeder directory states outright, in its own words, that it searched and found no local breeder.
Australia: the flattest absence of the four
No breeder, no listing, no secondary figure of any kind: the flattest market absence in this breed's file, with neither nor carrying the breed.
The two traps
Both found live during our research, both the exact shape a Sokoke-hunting reader will meet. First, the demo-template price: a site quoting a plausible-looking Sokoke price that turns out to be a web-template demo page, not a breeder. If a price has no named cattery, no kitten and no date attached, treat it as furniture. Second, the marketplace filler: a UK marketplace's own breed-filtered Sokoke URL rendering EIGHT listings, every one an unrelated breed padded in by the platform. A filtered URL that returns results is not proof any of them match the filter.
If you genuinely want a Sokoke
The honest route: the Sokoke Breed Club (UK) for the two named breeders and the waitlist conversation. The Kenya-import route (with the waybill paperwork) if you are in Canada and want registrable stock. And patience measured in years rather than months. Read our identification page first, because at this rarity, most cats sold as Sokokes without papers are handsome tabbies.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Sokoke cat cost?
There is no confirmed live price to quote in any of our four markets: the UK's two club-listed breeders publish none, the US marketplaces return explicit zeros, Canada's registry tool cannot select the breed, and Australia has nothing at all. Any tidy "Sokoke price range" you read online deserves the demo-template test: named cattery, real kitten, date.
Are there Sokoke breeders in the US or Canada?
None our research could confirm with a published price. Canada's registry lists the breed only at Experimental tier, registrable only via direct Kenyan import with a waybill: the paperwork rule that shapes the whole North American market.
Why is the Sokoke so rare?
A tiny founding population from Kenya's Arabuko Sokoke region, a handful of European breeding lines, and registry statuses that range from preliminary to experimental. GCCF and the UK breed club both call it the world's rarest domestic breed, a claim we report with its sources attached.
Is a cheap Sokoke listing real?
Almost certainly not: with two named breeders in the breed's strongest market, an unpapered "Sokoke" at pet-tabby prices is a tabby. Our identification page shows what the pattern does and does not prove.

This is information, not veterinary advice, and it cannot tell you what is wrong with your cat. Our rule is a simple one: if something is wrong with your cat, call your vet, and call an emergency clinic if it is out of hours. Nothing you read here is a reason to wait.
Medical information applies to every reader. Prices, legal duties and common practice do not: unless stated otherwise, they are given for the United States, and they differ in the UK, Canada and Australia, and often between states or provinces. Check with your own vet and your own local authority.
