Toyger Price: What Kittens Really Cost, and Where the Breeders Are
Real Toyger prices: two named US catteries from $1,500, the same two kittens at double on a reseller marketplace, UK live listings, Canada's one source, Australia's A$3,000 anchor.

The most useful thing our Toyger price research found is two kittens with names. Wulfric and Ugo, both bred in New York, are listed on two different marketplaces at the same time: $3,400 and $2,650 on one, $5,900 and $6,800 on the other, for the identical animals. The mechanism below explains that gap, and it is the single best negotiating fact a Toyger buyer can hold. Around it: named catteries in all four of our markets, with every figure sourced and dated.

United States: two catteries, one marketplace lesson
Two independent named catteries anchor the market. Christa Toygers lists four named kittens (Leo, Tiana, Luna, Kelsie) at exactly $1,500 each. It states its full range as $1,500 to $5,000 "depending on quality, markings, and show potential," with show quality from $2,500. DesignerStripes Toygers (Illinois) prices pets at $2,000 and up, and show quality at $2,500 to $3,500. The two ranges overlap in the $2,500-3,500 show band, and only Christa reaches the $5,000 ceiling.
Then the marketplace lesson. The same two named kittens (Wulfric and Ugo) appeared on GoKitty at $3,400 and $2,650, and on PurebredKitties at $5,900 and $6,800: 1.7 to 2.6 times more for the identical cats. The second site's own product data names the SELLER as the marketplace itself, and the BREEDER only as the "brand". That is a reseller marking up the breeder's price, not two opinions about what a kitten is worth. Finding the breeder's own page is worth thousands. One aggregator's "$50,000 show Toyger" line cites no cattery and no sale anywhere. We found it nowhere else and do not publish it as a fact.
United Kingdom: a stale range on a fresh page
The widely quoted UK range, £600 to over £1,500, comes with a caveat our research caught. The page that publishes it carries an insurance quote dated April 2018 in the same paragraph, inside a page technically refreshed in 2026. The text is 2018 content still live. The live market read differently: one verified listing at £1,995 (a silver-variant premium, above the old ceiling), and one thin unverified listing we do not treat as a Toyger price.
One cattery-level trap worth naming: the only priced litters at one real UK cattery were explicitly crosses (£500-650), not pure Toygers. A low UK price deserves a question before excitement. The UK's breed club is real and -track, but its own for-sale page sits behind a bot wall. Club-listed kittens mean contacting the club directly.
Canada: one source, said in bold
Canada is a single-source market in our research: one named breeder, Paradise Toygers & Bengals (Charette, Quebec), with one live listing at $3,600. The listing's own technical data tags that price in US dollars despite the Quebec address, a discrepancy we state rather than silently correct. Everything else confirms scarcity. A Canada-filtered marketplace search returned zero Toyger listings nationwide, and a breeders directory returned zero results in all 13 provinces and territories. One breeder is a contact, not a market rate.
Australia: two states, one number
Two independent catteries in two different states publish the same figure: Jasmarez Toygers (Elizabeth North, South Australia) at A$3,000 on a live listing, and El'Sprite Toygers (Oberon, New South Wales, registered and ) at A$3,000 via a national directory. A third real cattery, in Tasmania, publishes no price. Three named catteries nationwide is the whole visible market. A$3,000 is a genuine anchor, and waiting lists are the normal route.
How to actually find a breeder
The breed's international society states it has "over 25 approved breeders in 15 countries" with a members' directory, and 's own breeder listings cover the US. One correction our research paid for twice: toygers.com is NOT the breed founder's cattery (the domain now serves an unrelated Oregon cattery). So treat "the original Toyger cattery" claims on any site with the scepticism this file just earned. Wherever you buy: ask for the , the registry, and the breeder's own price page. Then compare it against any marketplace listing before paying a reseller's markup.

We could not verify one: the figure appears in one aggregator article with no named cattery or sale, and nowhere else in our research. The documented US ceiling at named catteries is $5,000.
How do I avoid Toyger price traps?
Three from our own files: a reseller marketplace can double a breeder's price for the same kitten; a cheap UK "Toyger" may be an explicitly labeled cross; and the widely copied UK price range dates from 2018 inside pages that look current.
