United States: one published price, two silences

Of the three US Chartreux catteries we reached, exactly one publishes a price: $1,300 (Helen Cattery, Florida). The other two withhold pricing entirely, which in a breed this thin is a market structure, not shyness. Alongside the cattery lane there is an individual-seller band on GoKitty running $500 to $1,500: a genuinely different, lower-verification population that we report separately and never blend into the cattery figure. If you want the pedigree, the paperwork and the breeder relationship, $1,300 is the one published anchor this market offers.

United Kingdom: the club's own number

The UK figure is the strongest single source in this file: £1,200, the Chartreux Cat Club UK's own waiting-list price. In a thin-population breed, a breed club's stated figure beats a lone cattery's and beats a registry's silence (registries never price kittens); it is genuinely single-source, and no live range exists against it. Expect the waiting list to be the route: this is not a browse-and-buy breed anywhere, least of all in Britain.

Canada and Australia: a checked absence

No published Chartreux price exists in Canada (four independent checks) or Australia (two directories), and in Australia the reason goes deeper: ACF, the national federation, states the breed has no current Australian standard because no exhibits currently exist in the country. That is not a market we failed to find; it is a market that does not currently exist. Canadian buyers work with US catteries in practice; Australian buyers are, for now, reading about someone else's breed.

The ranges that surveyed nobody

Three US consumer guides publish three disagreeing ranges (roughly $750 to $2,000, $500 to $2,500, and $1,500 to $2,000), none citing a single named cattery or listing, and none matching the one real published cattery figure. Three ranges that cannot all be right and cite nothing are a finding about guide sites, not about Chartreux prices; we name them so you recognize them, and we decline to publish any of them as a figure.
