NO source we could find, registry, veterinary or even marketing, makes a hypoallergenic claim for this breed specifically, in either direction. 's breed page is silent on allergens. The one peer-reviewed paper comparing across cat groups that our research checked names no breeds at all in its full text. The claim simply has no file. And an empty file means the general rules of cat allergy apply, undiluted.
The mechanism does not care about serval ancestry
, the allergen that matters most, is produced in every cat's skin and salivary glands and spread by grooming. Nothing about serval ancestry changes that machinery. A serval is a felid with the same allergen biology, and a Savannah is a domestic cat with some serval genome upstream.
