Himalayan Kittens for Sale: What the Listings Actually Say
Live marketplace samples and named catteries, read August 2026: US $1,000-4,500, UK £250-1,800 (mostly crosses), Canada's same-litter split, and Australia's documented absence.

Start with the fact that changes how you shop, before any figure. Whether you can even SEARCH for this cat by name depends on your country's registry politics. Canada's Kijiji and Australia's PetsMates both carry a dedicated "Himalayan" breed filter. No UK marketplace we sampled has one at all, and most US platforms fold the breed into "Persian" (the registry story explains why the same cat carries different paperwork by country). Where the filter is missing, keyword searches fill up with crosses. Our samples show exactly that.
United States: three tiers, honestly separated
Three named sources, three different populations, and we publish all three rather than averaging them. Adopt a Pet's platform-wide estimate puts breeder kittens at $600 to $1,500 (its own adoption figure: $75 to $150). GoKitty's live national marketplace ran $1,000 to $4,500 on our reading day, across 10 named listings in 7 states. Household-pet kittens clustered $1,000 to $3,200, while two "Show Potential" kittens at one Tallahassee cattery sat at $4,200 and $4,500.
And Doll Face Persian Kittens, a Missouri cattery breeding since 1989, sells Persians, Himalayans and Exotic Shorthairs off ONE shared ladder starting at $3,500. Keeper-quality kittens occasionally pass $10,000, with no Himalayan-specific premium or discount anywhere on its site. A New Jersey cattery, Khloe's Kittens, prices by phone only. It states plainly that it charges no more or less "because of sex/coloring/facial structure."
United Kingdom: read the listing, not the label
Neither Pets4Homes nor Gumtree UK files "Himalayan" as a breed. Our two live samples (10 keyword-matched listings, plus page one of 55 "Persian" ads) ran £250 to £1,800. Most keyword matches were explicitly crosses in the sellers' own words: "BSH mix Himalayan Persian" at £420, a three-breed "RagdollxSiberianxHimalayan" at £550.
Only two listings in either sample named a real point color in their own title: a flame point girl at £550, and the sample's ceiling, a "Blue point doll face persian" in Camden at £1,111. The practical rule for UK buyers: the word Himalayan in a title proves nothing. A named point color and -registered parents are what to ask for.
Canada: the clearest number in the file
Two live Kijiji samples (45 Ontario ads, 6 Greater Montreal) ran $250 to $1,800 CAD. One Montreal litter did the market analysis for us. The same seller, the same litter, the same day, priced the one purebred Himalayan kitten at $450 and its two Himalayan-tabby littermates at $250 each. That $200 gap, stated in the ad itself, is the purebred-versus-cross premium no aggregator page carries. Ontario purebred listings clustered $400 to $1,000 (a seal point litter at $1,000 topped them). One correction from our research: two "Canadian catteries" commonly cited online are respectively a US business by its own homepage and a dead domain.
Australia: an absence, documented twice over
We publish no Australian price range, because none exists in public. Three named, registered, currently-operating catteries (Catmandu in Melbourne, Cagra Cats in Sydney, Romeouws in Sunbury) all price by email only. PetsMates, the national marketplace whose filter dropdown DOES carry a dedicated Himalayan category, listed zero Himalayans on our reading day. An AU pet insurer's own breed page carries no cost figure either. A converted US or UK number would not be an Australian price, so we print the absence instead, dated 19 August 2026.
What no seller documents
No source in any market states a dollar or pound premium for a specific point color: the two UK point-color listings sat inside, not above, the general Persian range. What the market does document is breed status. Purebred beats cross, in the sellers' own same-litter pricing. And no registry publishes a price of any kind: a widely-copied "official" range has no registry document behind it, exactly as we found for the Persian.

Why do so many "Himalayan" listings turn out to be crosses?
Because most marketplaces have no Himalayan category: a keyword search matches any ad that mentions the word, and sellers of mixes use it freely. Canada and Australia are the only two of our four markets whose main marketplace files Himalayan as its own breed.
Do purebred Himalayans cost more than mixes?
Yes, and one Montreal ad proved it cleanly: $450 for the purebred kitten, $250 for each mixed littermate, same litter, same day, same seller.
Does a rare point color cost more?
No seller in any of our four markets states a color premium in dollars or pounds. Ask about registration and health testing instead: those move price documentedly, color does not.
