The Australian Mist is the first breed in our files whose only live, named, numbered prices exist in Australia, its home country. Everything a buyer needs to know about the other three markets is what SHAPE their emptiness takes, and the three shapes are different. Australia: two real prices, from the founder down

Two live, named, dated figures. Nintu Cattery, which is the breed founder Dr Truda Straede's own operation in Victoria, states A$1,700 for kittens born after 1 September 2025 (interstate freight extra, not folded in). XOXO Australian Mist Cats n Kittens in Redland Bay, Queensland, states A$1,500, pet price only, with a A$250 deposit. Five further named Australian catteries were read in full, and none states a figure. One has stopped breeding. One says outright it is not a commercial breeder. One shows only SOLD litters, and two domains are dead. Two prices is the whole numbered market, and we say so rather than imply a network.

A note, not a rule: neither figure mentions GST, unlike the A$2,500-plus catteries in our Ragdoll and Siberian files that price GST-exclusive. Both Mist operations read as small hobby catteries below the GST registration threshold. That is a pattern match from two data points, offered as exactly that.

The registry paradox is worth a buyer's minute. fully recognizes the breed with a current standard. Yet its own breeder-directory tool does not carry Australian Mist as a searchable breed at all (the dropdown lists fifteen fixed breeds), and ' own find-a-breeder tool says "THIS FUNCTIONALITY IS COMING SOON". United Kingdom: a real network with a stale phone book

No live UK price exists anywhere our research could reach. The structure is real: fully recognizes the breed and two UK breed clubs exist. But the Australian Mist Cat Association's own "Find a Breeder" page names five breeders, and four of the five websites are dead (DNS failures or parked domains, each checked twice). Pets4Homes returns a genuine zero listings. The UK lesson generalizes: a niche breed's published contact list can go dark fast, and a club page is a starting point for emails, not a price list. One trap to skip: a UK-domain magazine page prices the breed in euros.

United States: one broker tier and a hijacked domain

No genuine US figure exists. The one named source, Luxury Only Kittens, gives only a symbolic "$$$$" tier with no number, and its own page shows it brokers multiple breeds rather than breeding Mists. A second cattery domain (KATSMISTS) is now hijacked by gambling content, confirmed through three doors. That is the second cattery-domain takeover in this breed's own file. GoKitty returns zero listings. An American buyer is realistically importing from Australia or joining a UK waitlist.

Canada: genuinely closed, and we can prove it

Canada is the one market that is confirmed empty rather than merely quiet: does not recognize the breed (its full standards list was read, all entries), and Kijiji returns a direct zero on the same marketplace where our other breed files routinely find live listings. No recognition, no listings, no import scene our research could locate.

Outside the named Australian catteries, be careful: the breed has near-zero marketplace presence in every market, so a surprise listing deserves the full checklist, registration papers, the breeder's club membership, and the parents' details, before any deposit.

The two published Australian figures are A$250 (XOXO) and, at other catteries in this file, deposits around A$100 with the kitten price unstated. Deposits are commitment markers, not discounts: confirm the full price in writing first.
