RagaMuffin Price: What Kittens Cost, and Why Most Breeders Won't Say
Real RagaMuffin prices: one US cattery's live color-tracked ladder from $1,000 to $4,000, a 12-listing market read, the UK's two listings, and a caught price fabrication.

The single best RagaMuffin price document is one cattery's own live price board, because it prices by COLOUR, step by step: $1,000 for a plain tuxedo male up to $4,000 for a pure white female, with every tier dated and taxed. Around it, the market's defining feature is silence. Eight named US catteries we checked post no price at all. Every figure below is sourced and dated, one caught fabrication included.

zero directory results and a marketplace filter that turned out not to filter; the absence is the finding
United States: a color ladder and a quiet market
The ladder, read live from Cats by Francy's own kitten board (18/08/2026, each price plus 8.5-9% tax and a $300 non-refundable deposit): tuxedo males $1,000; tuxedo, brown tabby and blue tuxedo tiers $1,500; seal and blue bicolors $2,500; blue solids and a blue-eyed seal point $3,500; pure white females $4,000. Color and eye color track price step by step, which no generic "RagaMuffin cost" article shows.
The nationwide check agrees. Twelve live listings on the GoKitty marketplace ran $850 to $2,500, sitting almost entirely inside the ladder's range (the $3,500-4,000 rare-color top simply wasn't listed that week). A vet-clinic content page's $800-2,500 estimate matches too, but cites no breeder, so we treat it as boilerplate, not data.
And the finding worth a paragraph: eight named US catteries, checked one by one, publish NO price anywhere and direct every inquiry to a phone call or email. This breed's supply runs through small, direct-contact catteries, not storefronts. Expect to ask, and expect a conversation about your home before a number.
United Kingdom: two listings, said plainly
The UK is a single-source market in our research. Exactly one site carried live priced RagaMuffin listings on our check: two kittens, £450 and £995. The same site's generic £600-1,500 breed-cost paragraph is a site-wide template, not a second source. Two independent absences support the thin-market reading: a second marketplace's RagaMuffin search sat empty, and one named UK breeder states on its own page that it has retired. recognizes the breed (Championship since 17 June 2015), so UK kittens exist. They move by club and breeder contact more than by listing.
Canada: no price exists, and that is the finding
No genuine Canadian RagaMuffin price was found by any route we tried. A breeder directory returned zero results. A marketplace's Canada filter turned out not to filter at all (it re-served the US listings, which we refused to publish as Canadian). And one "Canadian RagaMuffin breeders" site was rejected outright as a repurposed content-farm domain. With Canadian search demand for the breed at the measurement floor, a near-empty market is the expected reality, not a research gap. Canadian buyers work through and cross-border catteries.
Australia: one retailer's range, attributed
Australia is also single-source: one pet-retailer blog states A$2,000 to A$4,000 for a purebred kitten, attributed to an unnamed Gold Coast breeder we could not trace. So it is that retailer's claim, never a verified market range. Worth more than the number is the trap we caught beside it. An AI search summary claimed the same page said "A$800 to A$1,500". It does not, and the page's own text says $2,000-4,000. A price a search engine summarises for you is not a price until the page itself shows it.
The buyer's checklist, from the registries themselves
's own scam checklist and 's buyer's guide overlap surprisingly little, so we merged them. Visit or video-call the cattery and see the kitten with its mother. Expect a written contract, health record and registration paperwork. Treat a breeder with constant availability of many colors as a red flag. Never pay in full by irreversible transfer before any contact.
And the age line both registries agree on: everywhere we found a legal sale floor, it sits at 6 to 8 weeks, while every cat association we reached recommends 12 to 16 weeks and treats an earlier release as a warning sign, not a legal nicety. Scotland adds a genuine extra: breeding itself needs a licence there from three litters a year.
RagaMuffin prices, four markets
| Measure | United States | United Kingdom | Canada | Australia |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The figure | $1,000-4,000 by color (one cattery's board); $850-2,500 across 12 marketplace listings | £450 and £995, the two live listings (SINGLE-SOURCE) | No published price exists | A$2,000-4,000, one retailer's attributed claim (SINGLE-SOURCE) |
| The market shape | Eight named catteries publish no price: contact-first culture | GCCF breed, moves by club and breeder contact | Demand at the measurement floor; work CCA-AFC and cross-border | No breeder or marketplace price reachable |
| The trap | Color drives a 4x spread inside one cattery | The £600-1,500 paragraph is a site template, not a source | A 'Canada filter' that re-serves US listings | An AI summary invented A$800-1,500 and cited a page that says $2,000-4,000 |

Frequently asked questions
How much does a RagaMuffin cat cost?
US: $1,000 to $4,000 on one cattery's live color-tracked ladder, with a 12-listing marketplace read at $850-2,500. UK: the two live listings we found ran £450 and £995. Australia: one retailer states A$2,000-4,000. Canada: no published price exists, honestly.
Why do so few RagaMuffin breeders publish prices?
Market structure: eight named US catteries we checked all direct buyers to contact them instead. Small catteries screen homes first and quote after; treat the conversation as part of the purchase.
What makes one RagaMuffin kitten cost four times another?
Color and eye color, by the only cattery price board we found: plain tuxedo $1,000, bicolors $2,500, blue-eyed points and blue solids $3,500, pure white $4,000, each tier from the same breeder.
When can a RagaMuffin kitten come home?
Legal floors, where they exist at all, sit at 6 to 8 weeks; every registry and association we reached recommends 12 to 16 weeks and reads earlier release as a red flag. A breeder offering a 8-week-old "ready now" is answering the wrong question.
Are RagaMuffins rare?
Genuinely thin on the ground: two live UK listings, an unpriced Canadian market, and a US supply that runs through small contact-only catteries. Expect waiting lists rather than inventory.

This is information, not veterinary advice, and it cannot tell you what is wrong with your cat. Our rule is a simple one: if something is wrong with your cat, call your vet, and call an emergency clinic if it is out of hours. Nothing you read here is a reason to wait.
Medical information applies to every reader. Prices, legal duties and common practice do not: unless stated otherwise, they are given for the United States, and they differ in the UK, Canada and Australia, and often between states or provinces. Check with your own vet and your own local authority.
